Arhimetrics and Enota won competition for Herman’s Square Building
Two Slovenian architectural offices - Arhimetrics and Enota - joined to win invited competition for Herman's Square Building in Celje.
The new residential and office building is located in vicinity of the old city centre in Celje. The land intended for construction is part of larger degraded non-built up area, which was for decades exempt from the city development. Through the years a very heterogeneous structure evolved around this "wound" in the urban tissue. Though creating a new city landmark the main goal while designing the building was to reconnect the exceptionally heterogeneous area back into a logical whole.

Enota awarded for Podčetrtek sports hall in Belgrade
Enota received recognition for Podčetrtek sports hall on 33. Salon of architecture within the category 'Guests to the Salon – Works abroad'.
Jury president Goran Vojvodić dipl. ing. arh. explains jury decision:
“Authors demonstrated outstanding creativity in the approach, solution of, one might say ordinary, but also a very challenging theme - sports facility. Functional, structural and technological requirements that could certainly lead to a standard sports facility – a hall, didn’t stood in the way of the authors to create, through exceptional designing, inventiveness and dare, a building of different appearance, almost a cultish place in a small urban setting. By insisting on only one colour, the effect of ‘monovolume’ is raised to the level of sculpture, and certainly this building does not present only a shift in the treatment of these design theme, but also a anchor point of architectural profession”.
Salon of Architecture is taking place in the Museum of Applied Art in Belgrade for the 33 rd time. This award programe followed by exhibition is aimed to promote high quality architecture and architects from the country and abroad. The motto of this years Salon is: The Signs of Life: Architecture Around Us... Exibition is open from 24th March to 30th April 2011.
